What is required to complete my profile?
In order for the community to start verifying your belt rank, you need to complete the following steps:
Once this is done, your profile will be automatically opened to receive votes from verified members of the community. The number of voting points you need for verification depends on your belt rank. The number of voting points other users can give you, also depends on their verified belt rank.
Why do you need to verify my profile picture?
The profiles on this site must be trustworthy before we can allow them to vote to verify other people and their belt ranks. Therefore, we need to make sure that they belong to who they claim they belong to, so we don't suddenly have fake profiles voting to verify or dispute other people. We verify your profile picture by making you upload a selfie where you hold a little handwritten note with your name and user ID on it. By comparing the face on this selfie with the face in your profile picture, we can with relative certainty confirm that the profile picture is indeed of you. This is also why it is important that your profile picture shows your face clearly and your face only.
Why do you need to verify my name?
The profiles on this site must be trustworthy before we can allow them to vote to verify other people and their belt ranks. Therefore, we need to make sure that they belong to who they claim they belong to, so we don't suddenly have fake profiles voting to verify or dispute other people. We have two methods to verify your name: One is to do a secure credit card payment with a name on the card that matches your profile's. If the payment goes through, we can be pretty sure that it's you and your card. The second method is by uploading a picture of a document with your name on. It could be an electricity bill, an ID card of sorts or any other official looking letter. Make sure to cover any sensitive information, even though we truncate the image as soon as we've processed it.
Does it cost money to verify my profile / use this site?
No, this site and all functionality on it is completely free. While you can instantly verify your name by making a $5 secure credit card payment, you also have the option to upload a picture of a document with your name on. Moderators will check that it matches your profile and verify your name that way instead.
Can I be anonymous here?
Sure! You can use all the functionality on the site without verifying your identity. The only exceptions are that you can not receive/cast any votes nor can you post in the forum.
How long will it take to verify my profile?
Completing your profile can be done in a matter of a few minutes. Our voluntary moderators are located around the world and need to validate your ID documents. This can take anything from a few minutes to several hours, depending on when they're awake and online.

I'm not receiving my email with the activation link
First double check your spam folder. Then you can try the "resend verification email" function in the login box. If you're still not receiving any emails, try with another email account.
I don't want to show you my ID
You don't have to! In fact, we encourage people to not upload their passport, drivers license or similar (however, all uploaded images are being truncated the moment they've been approved/rejeced by moderators). You can upload a utility bill, membership card or anything else with your name on. Alternatively, you can instantly verify your name by making a $5 secure credit card payment with a card that matches the name on your profile.
I am afraid of identity theft if I upload anything sensitive here
Regardless, you should not upload any sensitive documents to verify your name. If necessary, make sure that you cover any information on the documents that you don't want anyone else to see. All uploaded images are truncated the moment they've been approved/rejected by the moderators.
I don't want to give you my credit card information
You don't have to! Just verify by uploading picture of a document with your name on it instead.
Do I need to upload certificates for my belt promotions in order to become verified?
No, this is optional. In general, you can add anything to your profile you please; it is ultimately up to the verified members of the site if they want to verify you or not, based on how trustworthy your profile looks.
I have skipped a belt when I was promoted but the system requires me to enter all belts. What should I do?
Make a record for the belt you skipped and put the same day as you were promoted. Then write in the comment why it was skipped.
I changed something in my promotion history and lost all my points!
If you change your belts (stripes not included), who promoted you or the date of promotion, all your votes will be up for re-verification. This is on purpose to make sure that any changes in promotion history are being verified by those who voted for you. Don't worry, everyone will automatically receive a notification and a link to re-confirm their vote once they have a chance to look through your updated promotion history.
I changed my name or profile photo and lost my ID verification!
To ensure all profiles are verified and trustworthy, any changes in your legal name or profile photo will trigger re-verification of your ID from the moderators. This is to avoid people verifying one name/photo and then afterwards making the profile look like it belongs to someone else. If you changed your profile photo, it is automatically sent to the moderators to be re-verified, which shouldn't take long. If you changed your name, you have to verify the new one by credit card or uploading documents.
What changes to my profile will make me lose my verification?
