I frequently go through profiles. With that being said here is my advice if you're not getting your profile being voted on.

Give others a reason to vote for you. Always remember when someone votes for you their name and reputation is tied to you, even if they retract there vote. Others see your vote and may or may not vote for you based on that.

1. Make sure that at each belt, you post pictures of certificate of Promotion if available, and or picture of you instructor changing belt. You can post three pictures at each belt. (Belt History)

2. Post pictures of you training in your profile gallery.

3. If you compete fill in your competition history, and medals.
4. If you have competition video post it up.
5. Add your social media links to you profile. So others can see that you put in the time on the mat.
6. Respect that someone took the time to look at your profile and verify you. SAY THANK YOU.

All of these will give others a reason to vote for you. REMEMBER IF LEARNING JIU-JITSU IS ABOUT THE DETAILS, SO SHOULDN'T SETTING UP YOUR PROFILE ON A JIU-JITSU BASED WEBSITE.

Here is a video to explain how to properly setup you profile to give you the best chances of being verified quickly
https://youtu.be/eVvt7SkvxZI

hope this helps.

"REMEMBER WHEN SOMEONE VOTES FOR YOUR PROFILE, THERE NAME AND REPUTATION IS FOREVER TIED TO YOU. "
I agree with the general idea about about having a complete profile. But the above is not really true.
A vote isn't permanent. For a start, they'll be reset upon promotion. But mainly because if somebody's credibility is questioned, you can remove a vote.

A person is only tied to someone for as long as they choose to be.

yes you are correct but other see your vote and your name and reputation is tied to that person. so my point is still valid. Make your Profile were others want to vote for you.

nothing on the internet is never gone. others see what you voted for your reputation is still connected. some others will vote for someone based on what you say, so you are connected even though you may pull back a vote.

If you change a vote or remove a vote, people no longer see that you voted perviously.
The idea is that people vote for others they know to hold a certain rank. Not blindly follow high rankers on the site.

As I as said, I agree that people should create complete profiles. That make others want to vote.
I simply disagreeing with the idea that a vote ties you together forever. The site is based around the opposite idea.

As I stated previously I respectfully disagrees. And that's ok. If people see my vote or anyone else's vote before its pulled back it is still seen. I know and have voted for someone based on a high reputable practitioner so my comment still stand. Once seen others may vote for someone base on a vote then if the original vote is pulled back, the other vote still stands based on the original vote. That is based on the original voters reputation. So you are tied together. This is my last comment.

That's cool. We are allowed to have different opinions.

For me, the point of this site is to verify the rank of people you know. People shouldn't be verifying others because they see high ranking belts do it. That's a very shallow vote, although I am aware it is happening

Many people would be left unverified if everyone only voted for people they personally know, including you.

Not so true anymore... But I'd like to see (especially ppl from higher rank) to put a little more effort in in case they don't have the personal connections - e.g. describe their BJJ journey in enough detail so it'd make verification decision easier.

I agree. As a nobody purple belt, I appreciate anyone who has taken time out of their day to look at my profile and decide that it was worthy enough for their vote. For that, I think they deserve to be shown some gratitude.

Also, on a side note, I have noticed that some people go months without logging into this site. They may return to a number of votes and notifications for various other things. Personally, it doesn’t bother me if someone doesn’t comment on my vote. I am on here pretty much daily and it is simply my personal choice to thank everyone who votes for me.

Yeah, that's what I'm seeing in some cases. I've voted for some profiles and then maybe a few weeks later they commented on the vote, so I don't stress about it.
