Who has a home training area? Post pics if you got them. I’m interested in seeing other people’s set ups or hearing about plans for future set ups. I recently saw a home basement mat room with a projector on a large wall for watching competition footage or instructionals. Below is my home training area. I got a good deal on the tatami mats which were used once for a tournament.

I used to have a home gym with a Thai bag and some mats, but with baby #2 on the way all that stuff is now in the garage.

I actually installed "spring-loaded" mat space in my basement (otherwise called judo sub-floor). It doubles up as the kids' gymnastics space.

That’s got a nice clean look to it. Sub floor would be nice. You can definitely do throws on what I have but it’s not ideal with ceiling height.

I may have to get a round timer. At my academy we have the same one as you. Battle ropes would be a nice addition to the other side where I have my gym equipment.

Battle ropes are a big help for me. Older guy so I need all the help I can get with minimal risk of injury.

Haha, most of these spaces are about the size of our entire apartment. :D
(I'm also lucky to live 15mins from my gym.)

Cool setups!

I built this. It’s basically a huge shed, but I call it “The Workshop”.

That’s awesome. Not sure what the climate is like where you live but is it heated or air-conditioned/fans?

White board is a great idea.

Not heated or air conditioned. It does have insulation in all the walls. I bought a small fan for when it gets hot, and when it’s cold some good old fashion rolls warm it up. But I’m in California so it never gets much colder than 40 degrees in the winter and doesn’t get much hotter than 90 in the summer. I know, we’re spoiled.

Now I'm jealous! We've been just throwing a piece of tarpaulin on the grass at mine. :D

That was my original dojo as well, but when I built the terrace, I decided to put all in!

I live in Canada. Homes are pretty spacious here. No way I could have had this space when I lived in Spain or Portugal, unless I was rich.

A slightly better angle.. its above my garage. I don't use it as much as I should though as I attend my team gym 5 to 6 days a week.

My garage is a mess to be honest. Its full of kids bikes..various motorbikes.. household junk and other crap...but its great for hammering stuff, grinding metal and just tinkering with my car.. a man cave.. messy and dirty.
